Social Distancing and Virtual Medical Education

11 Jul 2020 10:06 AM | NAMEC Staff (Administrator)

Obviously, in the age of COVID-19, the continued transition of continuing medical education to online and virtual formats has been accelerated.

NAMEC members can post and share in our member forum strategies that have worked - or not worked - for your businesses. Non-members can join immediately online and join in the discussion.  Membership is open to individuals with an interest in the field, or for institutions that agree with the NAMEC mission of representing the interests of medical education companies (MECs), including advocacy for MECs and education of the professionals who work for them; supporting the advancement of certified education as an integral part of the healthcare community in improving patient health outcomes; fostering increased collaboration among certified education stakeholders in a manner of mutual support, professionalism, and respect; and advocating, demonstrating, and supporting the value of certified education.

A recent article at News Medical notes:

"Most states in the United States allow up to 25% of clinical hours to be simulation-based and some states permit over 50%. Numerous organizations have already looked to online education for training regarding COVID-19, and a number of them are now transitioning to online platforms for other training needs."

NAMEC has also partnered with PGI to help organizations effectively enhance their online and virtual presence.
